Our Story

The whole person, not just a patient. Or a disease.

The Crohn’s and Colitis Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital is a unique and innovative model in the care of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). We recognize that when people are ill, it affects their whole person. The path to wellness requires support and understanding of each and every patient’s individual needs.

A multidisciplinary approach— under one roof

While we recognize that taking medications is absolutely critical to your care, it is only a piece of our overall approach. At the Crohn’s and Colitis Center we take a true multidisciplinary approach which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nutritional services, health coach, psychological services, mind body medicine, stress management, educational programs, surgery, endoscopy, infusion therapy and access to the latest research, medications and clinical trials all part of one state-of-the-art center.

With shared decision making – You’re in control

Our goal is for everyone to take an active, informed role in their journey to wellness. Medications and therapies will always be explained and agreed upon mutually before being initiated. We will supply you with the tools you need to get yourself better and will help you learn to use those tools to stay well.
